Most of the universalistic literature available pertains to the Made-to-Stock Scenario wherein we have mostly standard products that can be produced in large quantities and stocked if it is economical to do so. The customers may purchase the products directly from inventory at a retail outlet or at the factory distribution center. Nonetheless there is a large degree of similarity between products.
